这儿的图书馆一个人可以借十二本书。 不过儿童图书馆小了点，选择也好像没有后港的那么多。
Each child can borrow 12 books from the libraries here, adults 8 books. However, the selection for children's books is not that great, so I have not found the need to use my own or Jianming's card, Ethan's suffices so far.
游乐场
建明说他们刚刚重建了这里的游乐场。一个下午，5点左右，天气晴朗，带靖恒到哪儿玩玩。他也玩得不亦乐乎。
They just refurbished the playground at The Meadows here, and it's got various sections for various ages from toddlers to school kids. A really good place for a child to spend the time on a sunny day. There are also tennis courts for booking.
6/10 本来想带他去爬山的，可是靖恒哪儿都想看一看，走一走。到头来，没时间爬山了，就在山脚下附近的游乐场玩了一下。这个游乐场相比下，规模比较小，也比较静，可是他也玩得乐不思蜀。
Our first attempt to climb Arthur's Seat failed because Ethan wandered too much and in the end, it's just too late at around 4.30pm. So we settled for a playground nearby. It's not as grand as the one at The Meadows, nor as rowdy, but Ethan seemed to have had a good time.
12/10：又是阳光普照的一天，至少到3点左右。这样的天气真不像秋天的爱丁堡。我带他到那个大点儿的游乐场去了一下。
Weather's so good I just had to get out. So, I brought Ethan to The Meadows again. We had bread for tea there before heading home - my ploy to get him take his afternoon nap by carrying him on the way back. Yes, my arms ached, but it was worth it. :)
韩国的朋友
11/10 在靖恒玩得教堂里，碰到一个在拜二“妇女协会”认识的韩国母亲。她的儿子跟靖恒同年同月生。她请我和一位台湾朋友（有一个快两岁的女儿）到她的家去坐坐。韩国人的丈夫在爱丁堡大学修读神学博士。台湾人的先生则修读同样的科目，可是是硕士。这儿可真多基督教徒。我们在她的家聊了将近两个小时，三个小孩也闹在一起，第一次靖恒不怎么找我。。。她的家挺大的，环境清幽，而且很多家庭都住这里。可是离市区还是远了点，大概20分钟步行。

I met a Korean woman at the Women's Club (see this post). She went to the St Peter's Church playgroup on 11 Oct and was kind enough to invite me and another Taiwanese woman who lived near her to her place the same day afternoon. I walked the buggy for 30 mins before reaching her flat at Blacket Avenue. The flat is much more spacious than ours but the location is of course not as good. I think I am too pampered by the convenience of our flat, despite it being old and rickety. Anyway, we had a really good time there - the three kids played among themselves mostly, and it was a rare respite and good chat with the two other mothers, whose husbands are here for postgraduate studies in Theology. Rather a popular subject for the Koreans here, it seems. I met another Korean mother whose husband is doing the same. Jianming joined us soon after I arrived, so he pushed the buggy back at a record speed of 20 mins. Well, he only had one record to break, but it was a rather 'flimsy' buggy...
