圣诞气氛

圣诞除夕，我们几乎都在忙着准备晚餐和圣诞蛋糕。我们买了一只鸡来烘烤。

We had roast chicken with home-made stuffing (just a lot of different stuffs), swede and parsnip soup (because the swede and parsnip were on offer), and some potatoes, carrots, broccoli and baby corn side dish for Christmas eve dinner. Also baked a Christmas fruit cake (alcohol-free). Spent the whole day cooking up a storm, and clearing up the stormy mess (well, not that stormy really).

冬至的早晨有雪

12月22日早上8点建明打开窗，嚷道：“昨晚下雪了!” 我兴奋地去看 - 一层薄薄的雪铺盖在屋顶和地上，马路上的则已融化了。到了中午，雪大都不见了。这天是一年里最短的日，最长的夜，我们可以期盼太阳渐渐地，会迟一点下山了。

Early morning on the shortest day of the year, we saw a thin film of snow covering the roofs and car parks and the cars as we opened the window shutters at 8am. Most of the snow melted by noon. Wonder if we'll get more snow again? Anyway, there's one thing certain we can look forward to, and that is the gradually lengthening hours of daylight - provided it is not overcast - from this day on.

圣诞老人来了

12月15号，我们带靖恒到城堡下面的公园看圣诞老人和坐“火车”（火车是用轮子跑的，绕公园一圈，大人1镑半，小孩1磅）。虽然天气晴朗，可是还是太冷了，手都疆了。所以，照片也拍不多。。。

15 and 16 Dec is Santa's Weekend at the Princes' Street Gardens. Some reindeer are gotten there from a nearby farm and Santa comes to feed them twice a day. There is also a Santa Express, which is a little train driven around on the garden on wheels. We got Ethan on it once. However, the weather was just too cold to really enjoy anything.
