There our hero was, in his helmet, all ready to slide down the pole and climb into his fire engine, gearing up for some action early in the morning. (The 'pole' was one leg of the kitchen table, and it stumped me when I first found out that that was the pole - I had begun scolding him for playing with the table, of all things.)
Then he noticed the packet of mixed chewy gums on the table, placed conspicuously at one corner by Jianming the night before.
Fireman Ethan had to stop. He picked up the kiddy pack and started to explore it, further exploring the idea of devouring what's inside.
Hence our fireman became a child of the mundane world once more, with no greater ambition or more heroic acts than to be the ultimate conqueror of the colourful sweets in his hands.

very very cute.. ethan still can't resist food, can't he.. hahaha.. jm setting a food trap for him.. hehe.. how i wish i can see it for myself.. :p
You should have heard him talk about the sweets and yelling at me and Jianming - "Mum (Dad)! I want to eat this!" "Mummy (Daddy), can I eat them?"... But he is a little deprived, not that I am going to change that.
haha.. but he seems more deprived than jethro leh.. i seem to recall a photo of jethro eating a lollipop or something.. i dun remember ethan having such a luxury then..
and ya.. i tot he is just going to eat it without informing u.. hahaha.. ok ok.. u have taught ethan well.. :P
but, is the sweet a trap for ethan? or just happen to be seen by him?
Erm, what I wrote was that Jethro thought he's eating, which is different from whether he's actually eating one. And of course he wasn't! So young cannot eat lollipop ok. spoil the appetite...
hmm, trap? i dun think we are that deep. i am sure jianming meant ethan to have it, or he would not have placed it there. and really, ethan could not avoid telling us. first, he's talkative. second, he can't open the packet himself...
oohh.. that explains it.. hahaha.. but still, very cute lar.. :D
